The course “Handle Antimicrobial Agents with Care”, offered by AFAQ Health Education, is a one-day accredited training taking place on 18 November 2025 at the Dammam Medical Complex. The program is designed to raise awareness about responsible antimicrobial use and global antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Through presentations and discussions, participants will explore the mechanisms of resistance, differentiate types of infections, and examine how antimicrobial stewardship principles can be applied in clinical practice to optimize patient care.
The course targets a wide audience of healthcare professionals—students, lab technologists, physicians, and pharmacists—to enhance their understanding of updated clinical guidelines for prescribing, and how to choose appropriate antimicrobial agents based on susceptibility, site of infection, and duration. The ultimate goal is to empower attendees with the knowledge and skills to prescribe antimicrobials judiciously, thereby contributing to efforts in combating AMR and improving patient outcomes.
